“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth…for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Joshua 1:8
What is good success? Simply put: it’s fulfilling God’s purpose for your life and walking in His promises. This is the essence of purposeful living through faith and life integration.
Four kingdom habits for biblical success
Let’s look at four kingdom habits essential for living in God’s definition of success, a true blueprint for spiritual growth offered by Real Worship Canada.
1. God-centered living: Put Him first
True biblical success starts with seeking God’s direction. The kingdom-minded don’t act on impulse—they wait on the Lord. Only what God starts will He sustain. Philippians 1:6 reminds us that He who began a good work in us will carry it to completion. Isaiah 40:31 says those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength.
- Abraham left his homeland at God’s word (Genesis 12:1–4).
- Noah built the ark exactly as God commanded (Genesis 6:13–22).
- Jesus said, “I do nothing of myself, but as my Father taught me” (John 8:28).
Action Step: Before starting a project, making a decision, or pursuing a relationship, pause and ask: “Is this God’s idea or mine?” Seek His guidance in prayer and commit to following His lead, using God’s blueprint for your life.
2. Pursue excellence: Give God your best
God did not create you for mediocrity. As His children, we’re called to reflect His excellence in our character, work, and attitude. Christian excellence honors God and attracts opportunities.
- Daniel had an “excellent spirit” and stood out among his peers (Daniel 6:3).
- Ruth’s exceptional character earned her favor with Boaz (Ruth 3:11).
- Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord.”
Action Step: Identify one area where you’ve settled for “good enough” and raise your standard this week. Excellence requires effort, but it brings glory to God and creates a lasting impact.
3. Be bold and courageous: Step out despite fear
Kingdom success requires boldness and courage—qualities that help you take God-inspired risks and face challenges head-on. Boldness means confidently taking initiative; courage is the perseverance to keep going despite fear.
- God told Joshua repeatedly, “Be strong and of good courage” (Joshua 1:6-9).
- Esther risked her life to save her people (Esther 4:14-16).
- Peter and John preached Christ boldly despite threats (Acts 4:13-20).
2 Timothy 1:7 says God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
Action Step: What bold move have you been avoiding? Speak up, start that project, or reach out to someone today—take the step in faith.
4. Be a solution provider: Add value to others
Kingdom-successful people don’t just point out problems—they bring solutions and add value. This is a core part of purposeful living.
- Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams and saved Egypt (Genesis 41).
- Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem’s walls (Nehemiah 2).
- Deborah led Israel with wisdom (Judges 4).
Jesus calls us to be salt and light, making a difference wherever we go (Matthew 5:13-16).
Action Step: Instead of complaining about what’s broken in your family, workplace, or church, ask God for wisdom and take one step this week to be a solution.
Will you choose the kingdom lifestyle?
Friend, God is calling you to a life that glorifies Him and blesses others. Kingdom success isn’t reserved for a few—it’s for everyone willing to embrace these habits and align with His purpose. This isn’t just information; it’s an invitation to transformation from Real Worship Canada. As you seek God’s direction, commit to christian excellence, act boldly, and solve problems, you’ll experience success that endures and impacts generations.
Let’s pray together
