About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief of Park Operations and Capital Planning to join its senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational stewardship of the park, with a focus on overseeing a significant capital improvement plan. This role requires a leader with a proven track record in capital planning and development, as well as expertise in managing facilities, grounds, and maintenance operations. The Chief will work in collaboration with the Department of Parks and Recreation to shape the planning, standard of care, and management of the park's landscape and facilities. Key responsibilities include setting a vision for the park's resources, ensuring operational excellence, and leading a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ecological resources, sustainable design, and environmental stewardship, and will be committed to the role that parks play in community life. Candidates for this position should have at least 15 years' of leadership experience, with a minimum of 10 years' in an executive role. Experience in park management, capital planning, and project execution, as well as a background in urban planning, landscape or building architecture, construction management, or environmental conservation, is highly valued. The role demands a strategic, data-informed approach to decision-making, and the ability to balance a strategic vision with hands-on operational management. The Chief will be expected to have a keen business acumen, be an engaging relationship builder, and possess the emotional intelligence and humility necessary to lead a diverse and inclusive team. The position also requires a candidate with a strong commitment to the values of the organization, including inclusivity, operational excellence, and the importance of public green spaces.
