Basic Functions Reception and cosseting of guests. Professional service (such as serving of wines, refreshments and meals). General cleaning of the property and maintaining tableware, cutlery and other household items. Overall caretaking and security of the property and ancillary elements on regular and routine basis. Duties include but are not limited to: - Serves beverages and food during official and informal functions, including breakfasts, lunches, dinners, receptions, meetings, etc. - Sets tables for breakfasts, lunches and dinners, using official china, glassware and silverware. - Sets up buffet tables, chairs, bars and reception areas, move furniture. - Answers the door and escorts guests to the area designated for the event; - Takes beverage orders; - Prepares beverages and simple food items; - Arranges food on buffet tables; - Cleans up tables after meal service; - Cleans representational areas after guests depart residence; - Cleans all rooms in the private living quarters of the Ambassador, the second-floor public areas, and the guest rooms using various types of equipment. - Prepares guest rooms for the arrival of houseguests, helps with luggage, takes meal and beverage orders; - Shops for food, beverages, flowers and other items as required. - Maintains inventories and cleanliness/organization of Wine/Liquor Storeroom and Cleaning Supplies Storeroom at CMR House; provides CMR Residence Manager with the information about items to be replenished. - Off-loads trucks when required, to include lifting & carrying objects as heavy as 30 kg; - Assists in monitoring contractors' work at CMR House. - Works frequently in evenings for representational events; - On occasion, work on weekends for representational events; - Performs other appropriate duties as requested by the CMR Residence Manager. Qualifications: - Minimum 2 years of work experience as a butler or in a related hospitality work, in the private and/or corporate sector. - Relevant education (e.g., butler school or hospitality/hotel management school). - Professional service skills. - Good knowledge of catering and formal dining etiquette, and housekeeping practices. - Excellent communicational and interpersonal skills - Top Secret clearance required
