Position DetailsDiagnostic Medical Physicist I : Novice level experience. Competent in routine radiation safety and accreditation requirements. Working knowledge of technical standards, scope of practice, department and health system policies, safety, and service standards. Working knowledge of departmental functions, routine medical physics duties and familiarity with regulatory requirements.
Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Diagnostic Medical Physics or Certification by the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) in Diagnostic Imaging Physics or meets the American College of Radiology (ACR) and United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) definition of a qualified medical physicist (QMP). Certification status will be evaluated annually (if lapsed, a period of 2 years will be allotted to maintain/retain certification status).
