Overview
Trinity Parish, Waterloo, is looking for a talented part-time accompanist on organ and/or piano and choir director. This could be one position, or we are open to two people working together to cover both needs. This role/ these roles involve not only performing but also teaching and mentoring choir members - supporting their musical and spiritual growth.

Responsibilities

• Duties include playing/leading music for one worship service every Sunday morning. The expected time commitment is approximately 4 to 6 hours per week, including Sunday service and one weekday evening rehearsal during choir season (September to May).
• We have Christmas and Easter Season non-Sunday liturgies where the accompanist and choir lead the music as well. Those are set well in advance, and your attendance is required at those.
• The accompanist will be given the right of first refusal to play for any weddings or funerals that occur at Trinity and they are compensated separately for those.
• This person/ these people would help maintain the music library and help with worship planning.

Requirements

• Experience with liturgical music and previous choir direction is preferred
• Proven experience as a Pianist and or Organist with a strong repertoire across various genres.
• Excellent teaching skills with the ability to communicate effectively with choir members.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with the Rector and choir members.
• A passion for music in a worship setting and a commitment to nurturing other musicians.

Compensation is adjustable based on experience and responsibilities.
