Position Available Immediately

POSITION: Special Assign. Engineer-Maintenance, Cat 4A

Full-Time – 12 months per year

Approx. Shift Time: Monday – Friday 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

DEPARTMENT: Building Services

SUPERVISOR: Director of Facilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent
City of Omaha 3rd Grade Engineer’s License
Ability to climb ladders to a distance of 30 feet or more
Ability to lift and carry 70 lbs to a distance of 50 feet or more
Universal A/C certificate
Five years of building maintenance experience
Five years of experience with heat pump operations & repair
Ability to perform skilled tasks in the repair & maintenance of building fixtures, furniture, mechanical devices, mechanical systems, A/C systems, refrigeration systems, electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, flooring, etc., and ability to operate EMS at a high level
Physically able to perform tasks under working conditions that require walking, standing, lifting, carrying, and bending over for long periods of time
Ability to work with or without supervision, follow directions, operate work order system, etc.
Must be flexible and willing to adjust quickly to the changing demands of a busy rural/urban school district
Must work well with the public, staff, students, supervisors, etc.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Security of the building: locking/unlocking, arming/disarming access controls
Mechanical systems operation, repair, and preventative maintenance, including but not limited to boilers, chemical water treatment, chillers, package A/C units, water heaters, pumps, tanks, filters, traps, thermostats & related piping, lighting fixture repair and installation, electrical repairs, plumbing repairs, and installation or modification for all of the above
Energy management system (EMS) operation and programming
Setup/takedown of various school activities, etc.
Responsible for the overall cleanliness, appearance, and maintenance of assigned work areas
Snow removal as needed
All other duties as assigned
