About EPIC Health

At EPIC Health, we’re on a mission to transform healthcare delivery through innovation, accessibility, and patient-centered care. We serve diverse communities across Michigan and are committed to building tools, platforms, and experiences that make healthcare easier to access and more meaningful for patients and providers alike.

We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer who is passionate about creating intuitive, engaging, and inclusive digital experiences that enhance how patients and healthcare teams interact with technology.

Position Overview

As a UI/UX Designer at EPIC Health, you will work closely with cross-functional teams—including IT, Marketing, Clinical Leadership, and Product Development—to design and refine web, mobile, and internal-facing applications. Your focus will be on turning complex workflows into seamless user experiences that improve accessibility, engagement, and satisfaction for both patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

User Experience Design

  • Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights.
  • Translate user needs and business goals into wireframes, prototypes, and interaction flows.
  • Ensure all designs are inclusive, accessible, and patient-friendly.

User Interface Design

  • Create clean, modern, and responsive UI designs for web and mobile platforms.
  • Develop high-fidelity mockups and design systems that align with EPIC Health branding.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of design specs.

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Partner with product managers and stakeholders to define user requirements and success metrics.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum processes, contributing to design sprints and iterative development.
  • Provide creative input on marketing campaigns, patient portals, mobile apps, and clinical dashboards.

Testing & Optimization

  • Conduct A/B testing and analyze performance data to refine user experiences.
  • Continuously evaluate workflows and propose improvements to maximize efficiency and engagement.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, preferably in healthcare, wellness, or a regulated industry.

Skills

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience with user research, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI design.
  • Understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and cross-platform design principles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with front-end development principles (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) a plus.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance)
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off, holidays, and flexible work arrangements
  • Professional development, training, and career growth opportunities
  • A collaborative and mission-driven culture focused on improving community health

Every screen, every interaction, every feature you touch has the potential to transform patient care and make healthcare more human, accessible, and effective.
